This publication was created in the context of the exhibition walls and floors and doors, on display from January 10 to March 20, 2026, at the Kunstverein Junge Kunst Wolfsburg. Drawing inspiration from the exhibition venue located within Wolfsburg castle, artists Clara Mannott and Daphne Schüttkemper examine the historical heritage and architectural infrastructure of this site.

The dialogue, dedicated to the Renaissance painter Sofonisba Anguissola, interweaves content from the research of the art historians Michael Cole, Maike Christadler, and Ilya Sandra Perlingieri with fictional speculations. In doing so, the artist Clara Mannott explores to what extent we can and should apply political categories from current discourses to her story and time.
